It is quite natural for parents to want their children to enjoy while learning. And if they do enjoy, they must do well in it, even if the kid is attending children’s football coaching in Bristol for the first time. So, you have enroled your child in a soccer training institute and waiting eagerly to hear - ‘the classes are so fun!’ hold on a bit. You will not hear this so soon unless he/she gets familiar with the curriculum. Although the little one need not be the best from the beginning, if you try to help him/her improve from Day 1, perhaps your kid can enjoy learning and learn to enjoy football both at the same time.

As a soccer beginner, your son/daughter has the vast ocean to dive in and swim across. That is, there is no end to learning in soccer. In this blog, we will enumerate a few things that your child is primarily going to learn in his/her football classes.

What will a soccer beginner learn initially?

The rules: Learning the rules of the game is the first thing that a soccer beginner will do, whether he/she is a child or an adult. Other than the general rules, the player must also be aware of the team rules. One of the most common rules is no use of hands unless you are a goal keeper. This is something that children, especially who are aged 6 or below, finds it difficult initially. But once they know how to do it, there is no stopping after that. They even learn about throw ins and goal kicks. Once these are explained well, the children do not feel any stress about the game at all.

Dribbling: In most of the pre school football classes in Bristol or elsewhere, coaches do not start with kicking unless dribbling is practiced. Dribbling consists of short movements with feet that are used to escape from the defenders or move anywhere on the field. Players will learn to dribble using the inside of the foot. One quick way to improve dribbling is by touching the ball forcefully with the sole’s inside/outside/bottom and even with the top or laces. If the player learns to dribble appropriately, it won’t take the entire class. Also, he/she won’t learn everything about dribbling in one class itself. Dedicating the first 15-30 minutes for this is sufficient.

Trapping: This is the skill that a player learns spontaneously in football. But upon the guidance from the coach, your child will learn the secret to trap the ball more effectively. Players can practice dribbling that focuses on trapping and passing simultaneously, where the player will do it mostly be using the inside of the foot.

Defending: Enroling in a notable child’s football academy to learn how to kick the ball, is not going to make your child an eminent player in the future. He/she must also know the defense tactics – how to prevent opponents from taking the ball and making a goal. For this reason, soccer beginners will learn how to become the perfect obstacle between the ball and the goalpost.

Conclusion: Soccer beginners can be between 2-11 years of age and it is normal to be a little tense in the initial sessions of children’s football coaching in Bristol or elsewhere. But that shouldn’t dishearten their young spirits and take the fun away. Becoming a friend and helping them to improve these areas at home, will surely make all the difference in your little player’s life.
